Jan, the chef/owner is from Trinidad, was raised on the cuisine of India, and worked at a Mexican restaurant in Nevada. The result is Marsala Salsa, a hybrid that offers two international cuisines, both well prepared at reasonable prices. The restaurant, located in a funky storefront in Waterbury's historic downtown, is decorated with a light and culturally ambiguous touch. Service is friendly and informal. Mexican entrees include carne asada and bistec picado, strips of sirloin charbroiled with homemade avocado-lime butter.
