Whether you are an individual or part of a group, you are invited to be a part of the RU12? Community Center. Get involved with one of our projects or create your own; we’re here to help you get connected and make change happen in your life and the life of our communities.

The Mission of RU12? Community Center is to celebrate, educate and advocate with and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Vermonters.

RU12? Programs

SafeSpace Anti-Violence
Support & advocacy for LGBTQ survivors of violence and discrimination

  • Support Line Information, support and advocacy services 1-866-869-7341 (toll-free, statewide), Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm
    The support line offers emotional support, advocacy, resources, and refferals for LGBTQ survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, of hate crimes, or any other violence or discrimination.
    Survivors are encouraged to call even if only to report the incident to be documented.
    There is also a support group for surivivors call the center for more information 802 860-7812
  • Education & Outreach Community education and awareness raising events.
    SafSpace runs the wall of awareness to document incidents and also does trainings all over the state.
  • Advocacy SafeSpace is the voice for LGBTQ survivors at many institutional levels in the state. 

LGBTQ Health Care

  • Gay Leisurely Activities for Men (GLAM) Building a healthy community for young gay & bisexual men
  • HIV Testing Rapid testing (results in 20 minutes) Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am to 6pm(ask for Chase) and Orasure testing Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm(ask for Hannah)
  • Vermont Diversity Health Project Health provider training & provider database for LGBTQ consumers
  • Cessation Tobacco Cessation resources, referrals, and support

Organizing & Advocacy

  • Pride   A committee that organizes the annual celebration of our community and of our movement
  • Vermont TransAction A group devoted to transgender rights and community building
  • Queer Summits Gatherings of LGBT activists across Vermont
  • Visibility Day Educating policy makers about our community’s needs at the State House
  • LGBTQ Elder Project Social support for LGBTQ elders
